The last few years have been marked by contradictions in public support for climate change. While the 'Fridays for the Future' movement, led by a multitude of young people, has been staging protests to demand stronger action to curb climate change, in other contexts, such as in France, measures like the increase in fossil fuel taxes have triggered a violent response from the 'yellow vests'. Researchers have significantly improved the understanding of the support for these policies. However, there is still a lack of understanding regarding which characteristics or attributes of policies are more accepted or rejected. This article aims to study which attributes or combinations thereof garner higher support for climate change policies, specifically focusing on Low Emission Zones. We aim to investigate how different combinations of political factors (ideology, level of consensus) and policy design (triggering event or the extension of the restriction) can influence the population's support for these alternatives. We implement a conjoint analysis in Spain (n=1500) to isolate the impact of each attribute on climate change policy.
