IPSA presented a panel, titled Practitioner-Academic Dialogue: Bridging Theory and Practice in Political Science and Public Policy, at the 2025 LASA Congress on 23 May. Chaired by IPSA Executive Committee member Vanessa Elias de Oliveira, with IPSA President Pablo Oñate as discussant, the session aimed at fostering exchanges between academics and practitioners in political science and public policy.
FRANCESCA LONGO REPRESENTS IPSA AT THE 2025 IAPSS WORLD CONGRESS
IPSA Executive Committee member Francesca Longo took part in the roundtable on Advocacy in Political Science at the 2025 IAPSS Virtual World Congress, held on 21 May 2025. Moderated by Soumyadeep Chowdhury, Deputy Head of the IAPSS Academic Department, the session also featured Jonathan Polk, ECPR Executive Committee member.
Nominations are open for the Wilma Rule Award on Gender and Politics, which will be presented at the 2025 IPSA World Congress in Seoul. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding research on gender and politics. IPSA Research Committees (RCs), especially RC07 - Women and Politics in the Global South, and RC19 - Gender Politics and Policy, as well as panel convenors and chairs at the 2025 IPSA World Congress, are invited to submit nominations by 20 June 2025.
Register for the IPSA-ABU Summer School for Social Science Research Methods, which will be held from 25 August to 5 September 2025. The School offers advanced training for graduate students and academics intent on strengthening their methodological skills. It is also an excellent opportunity for participants to expand their methodological knowledge, discuss research, and forge new collaborations.
Join the IPSA-Concordia Summer Institute in Applied Diplomacy, held at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada, and virtually from 18-28 August 2025. This exciting program offers a mixture of theoretical and applied sessions on all aspects of diplomacy as well as a hands-on Diplomacy Lab and the opportunity to interact with some of the world's leading experts on diplomacy from academic and policy backgrounds.
The June 2025 issue of the International Political Science Review (volume 46, number 3) features a selection of articles on a wide range of timely issues in world politics. The nine articles in this issue address such pressing problems as the dynamics of Rhetorical Entrapment in International Negotiations (Tarald Gulseth Berge and Jonathan W. Kuyper), specifically in relation to international investment agreements.
