REGISTER FOR THE 2021 IPSA WORLD CONGRESS

Early-bird registration for the 2021 Virtual IPSA World Congress ends on 18 March 2021. All participants including chairs, co-chairs, discussants and paper givers must be individual members of IPSA in 2021 and register online for the World Congress.
 
Register by 18 March to enjoy the Early Bird discount! Please note that fees will increase on 19 March 2021 and no exceptions will be made.
 
Reduced Registration Fee
In recognition of the economic hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage as much international participation as possible, IPSA is offering a reduced registration fee. Members may also choose to donate the reduction in solidarity.
 
 
IPSA DIGITAL: A NEW SERVICE FOR NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AND RCs
 
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted traditional academic meetings and conferences worldwide. In a matter of months, the pandemic shifted almost all onsite events to virtual. However, organizing a virtual event comes with organizational challenges and various costs, including event software, licensing, technical support, registration, ticketing, attendee management, and promotion.
 
In light of the cancellation of onsite events and requests from our members from different parts of the world, IPSA developed a concrete solution to facilitate organizing virtual events for Collective Members (National Associations) and IPSA Research Committees (RCs).
 
What is IPSA Digital
IPSA Digital offers our Collective Members and RCs free and privileged event planning and technical consultation with a professional event planner from the IPSA Secretariat. The service also gives access to virtual meetings and webinar rooms for hosting conferences, research meetings and other activities held in a virtual format. The online service also aims to create an innovative platform for dialogue and networking for the political science community.
 
Collective Members and RCs can enjoy this service to organize their annual meetings, workshops, or conferences (up to 100 participants). The platform is user and mobile-friendly and accessible on all devices, including tablets, smartphones and internet browsers.
 
 
 
IPSA'S 15 YEARS IN MONTREAL
 
March 2021 marks the 15th Anniversary of the establishment of IPSA's permanent Secretariat in Montreal.
 
In 2006, IPSA permanently moved its Secretariat from Dublin to Montreal with the support of Concordia University and Montréal International. Since then, IPSA and Concordia University have renewed their partnership four times, the last time being in 2020, effectively securing IPSA's presence in Montreal until at least 2025.
 
To celebrate the 15th Anniversary, we will be posting, throughout March, video messages from our main partners and IPSA representatives. Stay tuned and follow our social media accounts for updates.
 
REGIONAL DIALOGUES MEETINGS CONCLUDE WITH ASIA/OCEANIA AND EUROPE
 
We are pleased to announce the final three meetings of IPSA’s “Regional Dialogues” initiative to strengthen relationships between IPSA and collective members.
 
The third Regional Dialogue meeting on Asia/Oceania was held on 10 March 2021. It was chaired by IPSA Vice President, Yuko Kasuya, and gathered 12 collective members.
 
The fourth and fifth meetings will focus on Europe. The meeting on 18 March will be chaired by Executive Committee Member and IPSA World Congress Program Co-chair, Hasret Dikici Bilgin, and Executive Committee Member, Arkadiusz Zukowski.
 
The final meeting will see the remaining European countries gather on 23 March. It will be chaired by IPSA Executive Members Pablo Onate and Simona Piattoni.
 
 
 
12TH IPSA-USP SUMMER SCHOOL -
A VIRTUAL SUCCESS
 
The 12th Annual IPSA-USP Summer School in Concepts, Methods, and Techniques in PoliticalScience, Public Policy, and International Relations was held virtually for the first time on 22-26 February 2021.
 
In light of the pandemic constraints, the school adjusted its focus to provide mentorship and targeted feedback to research projects submitted by students.
 
In addition to the workshops, the Summer School organized three roundtable webinars to discuss key issues related to methodology in the ongoing pandemic.
 
 
IPSA-CONCORDIA SUMMER SCHOOL IN APPLIED DIPLOMACY
New Deadline: 15 April
 
The final application deadline for the Virtual IPSA-Concordia Summer School in Applied Diplomacy has been extended to 15 April 2021. Note that the deadline to be considered for tuition grants has also been extended to 1 April.
 
International students can get up to 1,000 CAD in financial assistance. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
We invite all graduate students, young researchers and professionals to participate in this unique event. Hurry up and submit yours today!
 
10TH IPSA-NUS SUMMER SCHOOL FOR SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH METHODS

We are pleased to announce that the 10th Annual IPSA-NUS Summer School for Social Science Research Methods will be held on 5-16 July 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to allow our international participants to attend, the Methods School will be held online for the second year in a row.
 
The Methods School offers a wide variety of basic to advanced courses in quantitative, qualitative, and formal research methods. All courses focus on both the theory and practice of social science research. Participants receive excellent hands-on training in state-of-the-art methods and techniques from our highly experienced international faculty.
