We welcome paper proposals on any subject in political science and look forward to featuring special sessions and events focused on the Congress theme Uncertain Democracies: Rethinking Governance in a Changing Global System.

If you are not part of the program of IPSA's Regional Conference on Resilience of Democracy in a Polarized World: Populism, Autocratization, and Global Challenges (14-16 October 2026, Wrocław), you can still register to attend as an audience member. Discounted registration fees are available to individual members of both IPSA and the Polish Political Science Association (PTNP), and to faculty members at the University of Wrocław. 

The American Political Science Association's (APSA) 122nd Annual Meeting is taking place in Boston, US, from 3-6 September 2026. IPSA is represented by a strong delegation, including President Yuko Kasuya, Past Presidents Dianne Pinderhughes and Marianne Kneuer, as well as current and former Executive Committee members and IPSA Executive Director Kim Fontaine-Skronski. IPSA also has an exhibition booth at the event, providing an opportunity to connect with political scientists and promote IPSA's activities and initiatives.

The European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) will hold its 2026 General Conference at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. Representing IPSA will be Vice-President Ferdinand Müller-Rommel, Past President Marianne Kneuer, who will chair an IPSA roundtable on How to Rebuild Democracies after Backsliding?, and Senior Director, Membership, Research and Strategy Mathieu St-Laurent. IPSA will also have an exhibition table at the conference, thereby providing an opportunity to meet with ECPR delegates.

The Call for IPSA Awards 2027 is now open! IPSA members are invited to submit nominations before 1 November 2026 for the Prize of the Foundation Mattei Dogan and the Karl Deutsch Award. Individual applications for the IPSA Guillermo O'Donnell Award for Latin American Scholars, the Margaret A. Vogt Award for Global South Scholars, and the Stein Rokkan Travel Grant Award must be submitted by 1 March 2027.

Ning Leng has been named as the recipient of the 2026 APSA-IPSA Theodore J. Lowi First Book Award for her first book, Politicizing Business: How Firms Are Made to Serve the Party-State in China, published by Cambridge University Press in 2025. Ning Leng is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy. She received the award at the 2026 APSA Annual Meeting in Boston on 2 September.

The 2026 edition of the IPSA-Concordia Summer Institute in Applied Diplomacy was held in a hybrid format in Montréal and virtually from 17 to 27 August 2026. The Summer Institute featured a keynote address by H.E. David Lametti, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations in New York, who delivered a lecture titled Middle Power Multilateralism.

The Brazilian Political Science Association (ABCP) celebrated its 40th anniversary at its 2026 Conference, held at the Federal University of Pará in Belém, Brazil. IPSA Vice-President and WC2027 Programme Co-Chair Vanessa Elias de Oliveira represented IPSA at the conference and delivered remarks at the Opening Ceremony.
